Temitope is a Senior Manager in the Oil, Gas and Power Practice at Andersen, Nigeria. His years of experience cover corporate tax planning; personal income tax planning as well as planning and management of transaction taxes.
Temitope has provided practical advisory services to multinational and local companies on how to manage the impact of tax laws and regulations on their operations. He has coordinated various tax matters and prepared opinions for companies in the oil and gas (both upstream and downstream), and other sectors.
He supervised professional services rendered to a leading multinational oil service Group and highlighted tax planning opportunities that arose during the review of its subsidiaries’ tax and accounting records. He was responsible for interfacing with the company on updates and changes in the tax and regulatory environment that affected its business operations in Nigeria.
He was also involved in providing an advisory support on the adaptation of Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Development Act (NOGICDA) for an international oil and gas service company. The key objective was to prepare an opinion on tax efficient structure in respect of the company subsisting ownership structure, employee composition, projects and activities, procurement and contracting process of the Nigerian subsidiary. The opinion also covered possible ownership structures that could be implemented to enhance greater compliance with the NOGICDA, while protecting the interest of its foreign investors and shareholders.
Temitope has great relationships with the Nigerian tax authorities and has led discussions in respect of lingering tax review and investigation issues. He also facilitates tax training programmes for clients and tax practitioners.
